Oros Press Release - September 3, 2021

Oros Press Release - September 3, 2021 Oros introduces the strike indicator, finally perfected. Oros, a fly fishing startup focused on solving problems that make it easier for all people to access and enjoy fly fishing, is excited to introduce its first product, a game-changing strike indicator. “Strike indicators are a pain to use. They have tiny parts to fumble and lose, or are not balanced on the line. Some have parts sticking out that get tangled. Applying, adjusting and removing strike indicators from the line is challenging in the best of conditions. - Patrick Douglas - Founder of Oros and inventor of Oros strike indicators. Oros strike indicators come in three colors, orange, pink and white, and three sizes, small, medium and large.   Breakthrough design Oros strike indicators eliminate common indicator pain points. There are no small parts to fumble and lose. It’s streamlined design is centered on the line for balanced casting. There is no exposed fastening hardware or posts sticking out to create drag or tangle line. The Oros strike indicators also float as much or more weight than the current leading brand. They’re just better. The exceptional performance of the Oros strike indicator results from enclosing fastening hardware inside of two molded EVA foam hemispheres and an oversized thread design. The foam hemispheres compress when closed, creating a pressure fit lock that keeps the strike indicator on the line and in place without kinking. The over-sized threads eliminate stripping caused by overtightening and make securing it to the line effortless. To attach the Oros strike indicator to the line, unscrew the two foam-grip hemispheres, place the line in the screw slot and then, holding the bottom half with the screw post in place, screw the top half of the indicator shut. Repositioning the indicator between sections of line requires just a half twist of the top and bottom.   Produced and packaged for less environmental impact Oros recognizes the long term impact of our products on people and planet. Oros strike indicators are made with a biodegradable additive that rapidly enhances the ability for plastic to biodegrade in natural environments, not in normal use. Our paper packaging material is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. No single use plastic is used in our consumer packaging. All of these choices result in a lower profit margin for us, but it reflects the true cost of doing business.   What fly fishing guides and shops are saying "Game changers! By far the best strike indicator design in the universe. These things will take over." - Brian Flechsig - Mad River Outfitters/Midwest Fly Fishing Schools, Columbus Ohio “Easier rigging and better casting than other indicators, plus if you drop the top you can actually find it. What’s not to like!!!” - Jeremy Clark - Galloup’s  Slide Inn, Cameron, Montana “Floats great! Sucks less.” – Mike Fischer – Mend Provisions, Minneapolis Minnesota   Product options and availability Oros strike indicators can be purchased in single-sized multi-color three packs or individually at select fly shops starting in mid-September 2021.
